The Viennese Ladies Orchestra Johann Strauss is one of our most successful ensembles. In their repertoire the ladies offer you such resounding names as Josef Lanner, Franz Schubert, Franz Lehar and, of course, all the Strausses beginning with Johann Strauss, sr and his son continuing on to Eduard Strauss. The ensemble plays as a quartet with two violins, cello and piano but this instrumental combination is expandable up to an ensemble the size of a ballroom orchestra. Michaela Wild directs the ensemble with the "Stehgeige" - as a standing concertmaster - just as was popular at the time of the Waltz King Johann Strauss. Since the ensemble was founded in 1995, the charming ladies from Vienna have thrilled their audiences with their artistic versatility and musical sophistication at over 200 galas, concert appearances, and balls. Are you looking for a special attraction for your event? The Viennese Ladies Orchestra Johann Strauss appears for you exclusively in true to the original, silk "Biedermeier" costumes. Listening pleasure, elegance, rich colors, and Viennese musical tradition are unified to form a harmonious whole. In the Strauss Year 1999 the Viennese Ladies Orchestra Johann Strauss served as musical ambassador on behalf of the City of Vienna and the Vienna Chamber of Commerce. They concertized in the "Deutschen Theater München", "Schlosshotel Vier Jahreszeiten" in Berlin, the "Museum für Gewerbe and Handel" in Hamburg as well as at the Stadtfest in Aschaffenburg. A particular honor for the musicians were the two concerts with the international Johann Strauss expert Dr. Otto Brusatti in the Historical Museum of the City of Vienna on the occasion of the Johann Strauss exhibit "Unter Donner and Blitz" ("Under Thunder and Lightening").
