Neben ihrer umfangreichen künstlerischen Tätigkeit in den großen Wiener Symphonie-Orchestern ist es Collegium Viennense in den letzten Jahren auf eindrucksvolle Weise gelungen, die sogenannte "Harmoniemusik" erfolgreich in den Konzertsälen zu etablieren. 

Jede Epoche hat ihre Musiktradition - die "Harmoniemusik" als verkleinerte Form der großen Oper wurde vom österreichischen Kaiser Joseph II sozusagen erfunden und diente dazu, den kaiserlichen Hof zu unterhalten bzw. die Opern-Highlights unters Volk zu bringen. Das umfassende Repertoire von Collegium Viennense bietet Ihnen neben den bezaubernden Mozart'schen Harmoniemusiken auch Werke von Joseph Haydn, Ludwig van Beethoven, Antonin Dvorak und Carl Maria von Weber sowie Zeitgenössisches vom Feinsten: Für den Österreichischen Rundfunk wurde ein dem Ensemble speziell gewidmetes Oktett von Otto Strobl auf CD aufgenommen.

In addition to their extensive artistic activities in the major symphony orchestras in Vienna, the members of Collegium Viennense have impressively managed to successfully establish the so called "harmony music" in the concert hall.
Every epoch has its musical tradition - the "harmony music" as a scaled-down form of a large opera was invented, as it were, by the Austrian Emperor Joseph II and served to entertain the royal court as well as to make opera highlights well known among the commoners. In addition to the enchanting "harmony music" of Mozart, the extensive repertoire of the Collegium Viennense includes works of Joseph Haydn, Ludwig van Beethoven, Antonin Dvorak and Carl Maria von Weber as well as the best of contemporary composers: a CD of an octet by Otto Strobl dedicated especially to the ensemble was recorded for the Austrian Radio.
